Thumprints is a specialty lighting company that offers innovative, creative and stylish lighting. With high-design, detail and artistic style at the forefront of Thumprints’ philosophy, our products are genuine pieces of functional art that are “as distinctive as your thumprint”.
Our client base encompasses retail, commercial, hospitality, and private label business, and we work with designers on small to large projects. Thumprints is a designer friendly line and our experienced team is eager to work with you to meet all of your design needs.
Thumprints was founded by young designer and entrepreneur, Allison Kay West-Davis. Davis, now 31, has always sought outlets for her creative inspirations including drawing, painting and crafts. Davis, a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in advertising, decided to take her creative instincts in a different direction when, in 2001, she began designing lamps from found objects. She knew she was on to something when local and regional interior designers and retail stores began clamoring for more of her designs. Davis continued designing lamps from unique objects and turned her creative energies into a business in summer of 2002, when she launched Thumprints, based in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Davis is extremely conscious and detail oriented and describes her creations as “functional art”. The young entrepreneur is revolutionizing the home lighting industry by infusing it with a fresh perspective and intriguing designs. Thumprints offers a range of contemporary and transitional lighting including table lamps, floor lamps, hanging lights, uplights and wall sconces. Thumprints creations are made from a variety of materials, which include rich wood grains, art glass, ceramic, and plated-steel. Paired with refined materials for the shades, such as dupioni silks and ultra suede, all of the lamps embrace warmth, character and style, creating distinctive lighting with an artistic edge.
